Staff Bios:


Jeff Torockio, PT (Owner)
     Jeff studied Exercise Science and Kinesiology at the University of Maryland, College Park.  After earning a BS in Kinesiology at College Park in 1990, Jeff studied Physical Therapy at New York University where he received his second BS in Physical Therapy in 1992.  Jeff has had an extensive clinical background including inpatient rehab, wound care, industrial medicine, and orthopedics very early in his career.  Later in his career, Jeff has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and geriatrics.  Jeff has had sport specific specialty training for soccer and golf enhancement as well as core training principles.  Utilizing core stabilization techniques, Jeff has successfully treated a wide range of patients, including professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes in a variety of sports. He frequently likes to utilize these techniques not only with competitive athletes, but the weekend-warriors and the sedentary.  Jeff specializes in knee & shoulder rehabilitation, using the latest evidence-based therapeutic exercise programs.    Professionally, Jeff has been a successful Director of multiple clinics in a corporate environment from 1994 until 2007.  It is at this time when he and his wife Nancy decided to leave the corporate world and open Sport & Family Physical Therapy.  In his spare time, Jeff is an avid Ravens, Orioles and Terps fan.  He loves to cook and be a homebody in Woodbine, Maryland with his wife Nancy and their four children.

Diane Kerr, PT

     Diane graduated from University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1986 with a BS Physical Therapy.   She started her career working in the acute care hospital setting and has worked many years in home care. Her most extensive treatment background is in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. Areas of interest include headache patients, acute and chronic sports injuries and women's health.  Diane has taken multiple continuing education courses and is proficient at Kinesio Taping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (Hawk Grips), and Vestibular Therapy.  She has been involved in field hockey and lacrosse coaching at the youth level and currently has a daughter enrolled at Towson University, and her son is a Towson University graduate.


Nancy Torockio (Practicing Manager)

     As Business Manager of Sport & Family Physical Therapy, Nancy is responsible for all billing, A/R, collections, accounting, marketing, payroll, and business staff operations.  She has been working in the physical therapy profession in this capacity for over 30 years.   In the past, Nancy has managed physical therapy clinics in both the private and the corporate settings.  She has opened up two new start-up clinics for a local physical therapy company and of course, opened Sport & Family Physical Therapy in 2007 with her husband Jeff.   Nancy believes strongly in the importance of customer service and truly treats all of our patients like members of her own family.  In her free time, Nancy enjoys animals, the beach, nature, gardening and having fun with her four kids.  She is in the process of becoming a “Parenting Coach” and hopes this will be a successful addition to SFPT in the near future.
